That's part of the problem though with day rate for someone else. I make 20 to 30 quid on materials a day so straight away the 175 is less than 150

Sure, but that 20-30 on materials is earnt by getting them in the first place. You don't have to do that in this case.

So to swing the argument what do you expect for £175 less tax? Interested to know.not digging you out just interested

Filling the van up with 15 bags of Multi at the start of the week is the best £150 I earn all week then tbf

I'm not going to take anyone seriously on here who brags about using standard board in a tiled wet area simple as that sunshine

Didnt brag. Just said that's what I use. As was pointed out by another spread on here if a few mm of ply is sufficient for the floor then standard plasterboard is fine for the walls

fk me you're thick there isn't the weight issue with tiles on floors as there is on walls u daft cuuunt
MR boards are constructed not only to be more resistant to moisture but also hold the weight of tiles and adhesive better than standard boards fk me what kind of fkin clowns have we got in the trade?

So now plasterboard can't hold the weight of tiles hahaha. Tiles everywhere currently dropping off bathroom walls :risas:

I know a hmo builder who's done 500+ student builds in the last 10 years and he doesn't use them. Im literally boarding one out for him now with standard board

if moisture does pass grout etc...through to MR boards the silicone contained in them will stop moisture from rotting the board which is what can happen with standard.
Also MR boards require no pre-treatment before tiling.
MR boards are also a lot stronger in their strength and integrity are are far superior than standard board to hold the weight of tiles, adhesive grout etc...which can add up to a lot of weight overall on a large wall.

The size of the wall makes absolutely no difference. Weight is based per square meter, which is the same on a meter by 2 meter wall or a 20 x 3 meter wall.

Its good that ply doesn't rot when wet isn't it....

There's literally about a couple kg difference in a 8x4 sheet.so that couple of grams is going to make a tile not fall off

If I'd got moisture penetrating my tiles and I had to rip them off and re tile the wall then that plasterboard would be getting ripped out too. Mr board or not. Standard board is strong enough to taketiles as I've never known tiles pull a correctly fitted plasterboard from a wall. Even a poorly fitted one tbh.
They're pointless
