Beading a little short

Just bought some beading and its about an inch and a half too short for one of my corners.
I thought the best way round this was to cut another piece and make up for it?

Also my window reveals go on to glossed wood, this shouldnt really prove a problem as if the fist coat does not key right, a quick second coat should do the trick as it will have something to key to?

Can anyone experienced tell me if these ideas are OK?:RpS_mellow:

Thanks.
