I think its time for a national plasterers strike against s**t prices s**t working conditions...yes i ,ve had abad day...oh yes and s**t foremen who dont have aclue bowt owt tossers...when and where.

Duuno if this helps:

'Over 400 construction workers met at Conway Hall last Saturday to hold a mass assembly to decide how to fight back against the 8 major construction companies who are tearing up the national agreement for electrical construction workers. They propose to slash rates, de-skill the industry and pave the way to smash the organised workforce. The rest of the national and smaller regional employers are set to follow. If they succeed they will move on the remaining national construction agreements and finish off the hard won conditions fought for by construction workers over the past 40 years. '

bad day

describe wot you mean by a plasterer.
wot i mean by describe a plasterer was- for every time served plasterer there seems too be 2 or 3 otheres working as plasterers who only do skimming (nothing wrong with that ) 90% of plastering seems 2 be skimming anyways but lets face it a monkey can do it . So is being a plasterer a trade anymore?? Do you need to serve 3 or 4 years learning how to chuck s**t on a wall and smooth it ?? and up with me ( north of Scotland ) theres no apprentices unless its a plasterers son ( god knows how ud let yer boy do this s**t tho but i did ) i feel plasterers are now the bottom of the construction industry with no respect given. A far change from a few years ago .

I believe you can only call your self a true plasterer if you can do it all ...float and skim, dot dab, board and skim, render etc.To be a true plasterer yes you need to serve a good long apprenticeship you may not need a lot of the stuff you get taught but its always there if you need it....how many younger ones can do gothic arch window reveals with bits of hardboard...I hav,nt and no way would i let my lad do this s**t for a living.description of a plasterer is thick in arm thick in head.oh and good looking.

our game is f*cked with chancers, and too many people out there who say there spreads but lets get back to the subject we all have bad days mate and times are hard so prices are sh*t. if you can make money from it, do the work its better then sitting at home, ive just finished a school in epsom £5 meter float and set
if you dont do it there allways a spread out there willing to push it up the walls and take your work as for site agents most of him think there better then wot they are

£6 float and set at the mo and know of a firm offering £6.50 and with the ammount of work about at the mo it seems to be getting better cant grumble prices seem to be slowly going up :RpS_thumbsup:

think i,ll go live and work where spunky and bodplasterer live you seem to be doing ok.work and prices still tight up here.by the way where are you from.

just finished job in north yorks national park 140 mile round trip a day .total 300 quid diesel bill digs not an option too exspensive and company too tight to pay for them.i will work anywhere in world if i,m paid right.

If you've no money you'll do any s**t job going to a point.Thing's are only going to get worse for at least the next 5years,the good years have gone so time to roll up yer sleeves and take it on the chin.
