WBA £14.50 a tub about 15m2 a tub. Or you can buy the bigger tubs of bettacontakt, thistle bond it etc...
 
so it helps with old high suction walls then mate never tried it ? might give it a go if it does
 
i used the wickes stabilising solution the other week for the first time on old lime walls for a reskim. £20 for the big tub,goes for miles. loved it. the lads on here put me onto it. couldn't get the artex stabilex anywhere.
 
Does that artex stabilser stop the skimming from reacting with the artex and blistering ?
 
Is there anything that stops the skimming from blistering when you cover artex? Obviously boarding it!!!!!!!!!!:glare:
 
That seems to get most of them with a final trowel out at the end. Just wondered if other lads have the same bother when over skimming artex. Tends to happen more with the roll on artex stuff.
 
thick first coat, let it pick up, trowel it flat, then tight top. as long as u let the first coat go enough. if not, tight skim of bonding with a handful of cement

That's how I've often got over a heavy/deep texture, although not always with the cement.
