For me this was a first with artex sealer. I think this is a good product to use when re skimming on lime painted walls.
The sealer is a bit messy but will seal the walls giving you a good back ground for pva or other bonding agents. It's drying time is about an hour on a very high suction back ground. I also think it will be good on a painted surface with matt painted walls . So all in all, worth having a tub in the van.

Still had to pva chris , the artex sealer I mixed 50-50 it stopped the dusty lime walls. I will always have a tub onboard the van now.

when you say artex sealer henry, do you mean the white thick pva type stuff for sealing substrates prior to artexing or a stabilising solution?

think he must mean the stabiliser cos he keeps referring to lime walls.

Which one did you get - the sandtex one?

o right, thats the pva stuff, bloody good if a little expensive, just like extra thick pva I find, never used to have colour in it when i used it last, was just white... never thought of it as a stabilizer though? used to use it for artexing, didnt add too much water, 1 good coat of that and you can pretty much stick the entire ceiling on before you start texturing..
