An Old Spread

Was havin a chat with an old spread yesterday,He started in 1976 and still going ! He was saying the old SIRPHITE (grey in colour) would set very quickly and they would add cream of tatar to slow the setting time down and it was referred to as "that shite that sets on yer hawk" Lol ;D

it was nice gear and not fast at setting, much better than multi.

Yea i was 7 then also,What i should have said was he started then meaning he set up on his own in 76 ;D

i started 1978 as well so less of the old please. When you think we would do 40m2 sets with it and it was all mixed with a plunger in smaller buckets than today. I also think the finish you got on it was far better. if we had a big set to put on we would put lime with it which held it back nice.
