Apologies for any intrusion, may I request some advice? My timber framed has suffered badly from frost damage and after scraping off the "blown" Sandtex I have been left with a pockmarked layer of cement render. This is a bit dusty. I spoke to LaFarge helpline, they advise sealing with "exterior PVA" before skimming the damaged area with 6:1:1. Normal Unibond will, apparently, get wet, swell and blow the repair coat.

Local merchants do not know about this external PVA product, can anyone advise on a suitable pre rendering coat that I should apply?

regards

most builders merchants do their own brand of sbr. its all much of a muchness.

Try to locate "everbuild " sbr about £10 for 5 ltrs should defo get it in colchester , or i could send you some if you want , you will not need a lot. Failing that rake it back till its solid and use water to control the suction .

Was your property rendered in the frost?

No, this is 30 plus year old work that had become cracked. Water got in under the snowcem then the bad frosts
last winter blew areas of the surface coat.
