Advice please - what would you do here?

Personally I think it's easier to skim over the frame, cut it back with a small tool like you do anyway then just caulk the gap once arcs are on

That would work fine if its a wafer thin skim :RpS_thumbup: any fatter or with backing coats my way may be better ?

Skim is only 2-3mm most of the time. If its that important he could knock it off and re float it. Wouldn't fancy planing a 3mm strip

Thanks for all the advice, I like the idea of skimming up to it then using a strip of wood to build the frame out kinda thing.. I've took pictures of the door frame and window frame, as you can see it's already flat
