60 min fire check?

Working in some flats above a shop, they've just had a fire safety check and some problems have been spotted.
The extraction ducting comes up through the accommodation and then out through the wall at the rear, at present its just clad in what looks like thin mdf and then papered over, this is not up to spec and it needs to be enclosed in fire resistant material to provide a 60min fire check.
The pink board is rated at 30min, is it ok to double up with staggered joints, or will a single thickness board with plaster skim be sufficient, or is there another product on the market that will do the job better.
Yep. Double fire board it as you've described. Not heard of any other cost effective products but I'm behind the times!
