    Ceiling Rose

    I always use screws and tile adhesive, and if the centre is particulary heavy or large you can normally find at least one ceiling joist for a decent fixing. If you use cove or dri wall it pays to seal the back of centre with diluted pva first

    stripping cornicing/ceiling rose

    ok, I know this is an old post, but I thought I would add my thoughts on this. Peel away is good is used correctly, I would steer clear of nitromors as it may break down the existing plaster underneath. If you are only cleaning up a small area, you could just use warm water, a stiff toothbrush...

    I've got a 3 metre worktop in my shed for a bench, which is adequete for casting and running most moulds. Ideally I'd rather a proper plaster bench but due to space restrictions I make do.
