Hello,
i am planning on using K Rend for a garage where there will be decking attached to wall.
would it be ok to unscrew outer boards beside wall and K Rend down to the ledger? Then just plane the deck board and screw back down? It's single skin no DPC
Might be be a stupid question...
I'm meaning sand/cement as well. Might give it a shot on a small area. I thought that when it said no scratch coat as well. Got plenty to do at my own house so I'll try it and if I arse it up will post back.
cheers for the posts though guys
Hi everyone,
has anyone used this cementone render Stablising primer before?
I've used the green plaster primer stuff before thought it was quite good but never tried this. Apparently it says it eliminates the need for a scratch coat but yet to hear any reviews.
It's on the bostik website...
Hello everyone.
I'm patching a couple of bits on a wall just now, with Lafarge ready mix as it's just small cracks but keep getting heaps of air bubbles coming through. Looks like the wall was originally taped and hasn't been painted for a while. From looking at the wall you can tell it's going...
Thanks for the advice, I think I'll strip back to old scratch and SBR.
I can't see where the DPC is but if I fit the bell bead about 175mm above floor should that be safe enough?
Thanks again, much appreciated

Hello everyone,
I've got a small extension that needs rendering, covered in pebbledash right to ground level.
Could i chip off the pebbledash and render over that to the ground or what issues would i have with damp? it's been like that for a good number of years and there's no sign of damp...
Hello everyone,
i was just wondering what you guys do in regards to PVA for re-skimming existing plaster. I normally primer coat wait to dry then adhesive coat which is fine for what I'm doing just now as I can crack on with other stuff waiting for priming coat to dry but what do you do if...
Hello everyone,
I've got a bit of patch work to do in a few ceilings, trying to avoid skimming them all. The ceilings were skimmed years ago. I've screwed in new bits of plasterboard and was wondering should I use couple coats of multi finish then a bit of joint cement to help feather it in...
Excellent thanks for help guys. Do you guys ever use Cementone Plasterers Stabalising Primer? Supposed to give a good key for skimming, is that instead of PVA or in addition to?
Thanks again
Hi everyone
I've put paint stripper on old flakey paint, it's only taken a bit of it off, if I sand down the rest so it's not flaking off am I ok to score it, pva then skim?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Greig
Cheers guys, your advice is very much appreciated. Still getting used to this site I'm afraid. Was just really to save climbing up a ladder then moving it all the time to skim the ceiling
Cheers for the help, I'll be getting electrician to do the lighting but this will either save me a lot of hassle or save the plasterer thinking I'm a dick!
Do any of you guys use those stilts for ceilings?
Thanks very much
cheers bubbles.
I'm renovating flats etc so not time served or anything, just been teaching myself over last few years, so far I've built up to skimming decent sized walls and VERY small ceilings so any tips or experience is a massive bonus.
Hello everyone, just signed up and this is my first post so apologies if I seem like a moron! was wondering about whether to skim before or after downlights are put in? Still not sure if I'm going to skim ceilings myself or get someone in, i'll be fine with walls but i find ceilings a nightmare...
