    screeding labour prices

I got offered a floor in Cardiff a while back, had to lay membrane, insulation and another membrane and tape it all, then put 75mm of screed down £3.50m2, would have cost me 50p a m2 to get there, not for me, but then i have heard of screeders working away for £2.25-2.50 m2.

How do you stop the tripods seizing up?

I use duck oil on mine, I've got a big wicker basket in the van and spray them all at once as soon as they are put away, seems to do the trick.

  24. cashandben

Which flow test measuring ring do you currently use for liquid screeding?

I had my test kit given to me by Lafarge, the cone and the board, god knows where they get the price you stated above. I also test every load, as it differs all the time, some times especially in the summer months the liquid can get stodgy if its travelled a long way,we add 6 litres of water for...

    Floor prep

Screeding is nothing like rendering, with rendering you need a bit of suction otherwise you'll be hanging around all day, and its not really bonded to the scratch coat, with a floor screed you need to kill the suction and bond to the concrete with grout, sbr etc the last thing you want is it...

    Floor prep

I always cement slurry concrete floors, never had a problem, always best to add SBR to it but killing the suction in the key, i always get the floor soaked the night before if possible. Geoff
