Thank u for the offer but didn't realise ur in Cheltenham. Even if I could make it I probs won't make it before closing time, so I will regretfully decline. Think I'm going to bite the bullet and get the two trowels and the speedskim unless thers a better spat out now?
Factor could be the mix. Wat was it as I like to have a bit of sharp in to bind.
lets say the mix would b 4-1-1-1
plastering, sharp sand, lime and cement
also so I rub up once with float and sponge 2 times hope this helps
Hi there do u have a store I could visit or is it a internet based company? Will gladly drive over for pointers and advice on the products thanks for the message
HI guys hence the title I have money to burn. I wana buy a decent trowel but indecisive on the refina stainless steel or The nela super flex. Was swaying towards nela till someone said to me the nela is a copy of the refina. Got the refina plazi but not keen on it as the nick that u can get from...
I'm guessing that's were speed skim would come into play. Never used one very tempted to. I'm sure the boys on here will tell you to go with it or not? Just throw as much as you can with in reason enough to keep you comfy laying it in troweling ect. Then when your at a stage where you think u...
I heard u can mix render with the belle? Is this true I guess it's only good for rendering small jobs in the bucket properly use a belle cement mixer for bigger jobs. The belle any good ?
What is the belle mixer like they make out they can mix sand and cement. But surely it's too dense n will have ur bucket spinning in now time. U ever tried it

I'd be happy with 150 but got told by another plasterer I was too expensive? That 150 would get u a 4walls or a ceiling and 2 walls. That's with the prep involved should really change the concept on how I price
Room is 150 - 180 3 gauges
gauge one ceiling
gauge two 2 walls
Hague three the last remaining walls
all hard angled cleaned up good as new.
too expensive ? takes me a day n half to complete being by myself
I price on the gauge how do u guys price. £50 a gauge roughly, 2 a day with prep work being £20 on top. £120 a day. 8am-5pm from leeds?
Could ls I get more? No more then 20m2 per gauge
It's very hard for me to get mp finish, so what would be better to use the super flex on board or multi finish? I've bin told that once you have layed down your second coat wait 5mins to trowel in with the super flex wait 10mins trowel up again and that's it. It's still wet but will leave a...

Hi guys thought I would share what I have done today to get some positive feed back as I'm new to the forum, haven't rendered for some time now and don't get big walls to spread on. After looking at some post I took on the advice and went as follows
1. Wet down surface of walls with sbr bond...
Sbr bond leave on 24 hrs then scratch coat?

Jus do 5 building 1 cement 1 lime no additives and I'm on to a winner
Going to render a garge wall bout12m2

Refina plastic trowel any good?
Hi guys just wondering what u feel about the refina plastic trowel, I've always been brought up on Marshall town but swaying to the dark side.
is ther any other trowels on the market that speeds up setting time with out compromising the quality
Plus new to this...
When mixing sometimes when using multi finish. It becomes more gritty when I come to trowel in? Is there a reason why?
also I'm getting bumps in my plaster work little shadows if u will. I'm i not catching it quick enough?
Cheers guys

I never knew to wait a week between coats. Must take the advice as my wall at home has hairline cracks. I've bin told to mix 2 building 2 sharp 1 cement for the first coat and then 3 building 1 sharp 1 cement with waterproofed in the 1st mix and plastercizier in the 2nd. Any other things to...
