Found this on my wall the other day, it had pushed the wallpaper out and when I removed it, a lump of plaster came with it with the dark bit in the middle. I noticed a post from 2020 with the same but no solution was added. Would I just fill again with plaster or leave for a period of time to see if anything else happens Before repairing? No dampness at all. House was built in the 50’s. Appreciate any help.Thanks.

see it happen a lot with those type of blocks, material that’s used in them causes it to expand and pop off. Whether it’s iron ore or what I don’t know, just patch it back in it will be fine. Scrape the centre dark patch out first.

Thanks for replying…. The centre black bit is like powder when you scrape it, I just wasn’t sure whether to repair it or leave for a period of time. . I’ll get onto it and no more appear. Thanks again

Oh dear…. Being a ‘woman’ I thought I had to use the largest drill bit… I’ll know the next time. Here’s a tip for you…. Use the wee Velcro type strips… they work amazingly and leave no marks
Pictures or it never happened.

Been a thread on here before exactly the same

I've seen it myself quite a few times.

I think it was blocks from the 60s?, might be organic or something, swells and pops.

Had this happen in my last house. It turned out it was some sort of nest that had laid dormant for many years. Then popped out . And infested the whole house with tiny poisonous spiders. . But shite happens. X:frio:

Could be, now got this one on my roof

That’s what it seems to be, 50’s ex council house. My daughter bought the house next door and I think she could be spying on me

Started decorating the basement. And found a guest.
