I always work out cheap on big jobs as I’m used to putting big mixes on so can turn a lot of work out cheaper than most? But small jobs don’t really interest me as I can make far more cash going to my normal everyday job. Usually I don’t do many private jobs as by the time I take my tax off my...
I tried plastic trowels on a few houses but they damage so easily and the price to replace the plastic works out very expensive when you consider how many houses they will last.
I had a try at building a garden wall but I made no effort to level the found for it as I thought I would be able to sort it as I laid the bricks :). I was wrong and the wall was a mess so I rendered it then tyroleaned on top and it looked the dogs :)
Thanks for your offer of help. Just recently the plaster has not really had a set time and even though the plaster was turning colour as it was setting it was still blebbing loads and I could hard trowel wet plaster of it the next day.
The bags had a useby date of 6/6/2018 which is probably...
Plaster them in easyfil 20 or add some of it to the plaster for a set time a little bit slower than the easyfil. Adding cement makes the finish look black.
I didn’t actually look at the picture and was expecting some wood lathing where the back mould was removed hence me saying fibre tape the wood :)
Just mix board adhesive stiff and it will fill all that lot very easy. A taping knife will finish the 2nd application better than a trowel as well...
My easiest way to repair this would be adhesive scrim tape over the wood then fill out with board adhesive and allow to set. Make sur you keep it flat as it sets very hard but there is no shrinkage then light coat over with either easyfil or joint cement and light sand when dry. This way...
I hated the one bought, I mix 4 bags a time n a half barrel and found that the Ox paddle just left powder everywhere and it wouldn’t mix in. Yet the site says best results are in a large bucket. I had to drag my broken paddle out to use until I could get an original 180mm paddle delivered.
Tried many a corner trowel and the Ragni one gets them right every time. Best angle trowel I have ever bought. Too get the lines out right give it a last corner either just before or just afte you hard trowel the walls and the corners come out sweet :)
I plaster houses for persimmon homes. Bare shell to complete and all they will use is Knauf. We had one year when we used Gypsum but they won’t pay the price anymore.
I have been forced to use knuaf plaster for 22 years due to the company I work for but this latest version of Knauf MP is harder to get a descent finish. I have tried Nela trowels but in my opinion they don’t work with Knauf plasters. I finally settled on the Refina 18” s*p*r*lex trowel and...
Thats expensive for a used 4000a especially when it comes with the older style collated attachment. I would expect to get a 5000 used for that and with the new style attachment.
