    WBA on plasterboard?

Agreed, no need for pva.The longer wba is left on the better the key. Just bang it on!

    PVA price shocker!

It's not just pva going up. I had to buy 2 20kg bags of thistle one coat, bloody £9.99 per bag. Is all plaster going up? We're all doomed!!!

    pva

i use wickes bonding agent, and although it dries gritty, theres a load of polymers involved in manfacturing. Have a go if you want, I certainly wouldn't risk it though.

    Recomended trowel

Down to personal preference at the end of the day. My personal fave is my 13" Carbon Tyzack which to be much better balanced than my MT. Trial and error I guess.

    Slowing down the cure time..?

I've just started using/experimenting with Wickes/Knauf one coat, slightly different technique to BG multi but it gives you much longer to play with and dries to a lovely white finish. I know spreads who once they tried will not go back to multi.

From Nothing to busy in 3 hours

You don't have to answer this Danny but roughly how much will you look at making in a week like that? I'm looking at trying to get more work before jacking my 'main' job as a driver. Need to make it pay though, wife, kids and mortgage etc! I need to be bringing in around £400 per week, is this...

    What trowels are the best?

It's really just a matter of trying to get your hands on a few and trying them out. My first was a 14" ss m/t and I couldn't get on with it at all, then managed to get hold of a carbon tyzack 13", lovely trowel, already worn in so it produced a lovely finish from day 1. You won't go far wrong...

    Teach me about......

Wickes Bonding Agent. Pink in colour with a sandy texture. Mix well, roll it on, let it dry (min 2 hrs, overnight if possible). skim 'till your hearts content without any worries, plenty of time! It costs about £12 for a tub but worth it for the piece of mind alone!

    broken in trowel

Yeah, I've had my 14x5 a couple of weeks now. Feels comfortable and produces a nice finish. Highly recommended.

    hello all

Hi guys, First of all, what a great site, especially for novices like me! Great info and advice. Like many I have done a short course covering the basics and would eventually like to gain employment in this trade. I'm a HGV driver at the moment and am desperately looking to get off the road and...
