    sealing a ceiling

A mate of mine used zinnser Gardz sealer on a artex ceiling that was artexed, and it was brilliant stuff, it was touch dry in about 40 mins and rock hard in 4hrs. it is meant for the decorating trade to seal in problem surfaces that cause suction or porous/flaky issues. the only fly in the...

I probably should have said that it's a rental we are doing up and we are going to tile or paint it depending in what levels / finish we can obtain. We just want to make it safe so no one trips up.

    footwear

I tend to wear the widest fitting safety trainers that I can buy , but whatever I get six months or so later the inside top of the toecap wears away and I get massive holes in my socks at the toe and heel. So I've started to buy and wear Tescos workwear socks ( £5 for 3 pair) so we will see how...

Best material for a spot board.

I used a bit of 18mm ply , screwed a lump of 2x2 on the back and clamped it in a old workmate . Absolute brilliant!!

I think it's a good idea cos when I look at YouTube vids of American spreads they talk about plaster as spackle and I get confused. Com

    scrapping down Artex

If you had a artex ceiling that was coved , would you just plaster it after the prep or remove the coving , re- plaster then put the coving back?
