Can primed cement board eg multi-pro xs be effectively glued to primed brick work using dry lining adhesive or should tile addy be used instead?
I would be using mapei primer G and gtec universal bonding compound
I've removed browning from brickwork and breeze block with an SDS drill tile spade some of it just fell away some areas were more tenacious.
There is a thin coating in many areas embedded into the breeze block surface.
Besides removing as much dust as possible, do I need to prepare the surface...
As I thought - advertising hype seemed to good to be true - I'll give it a miss on this occasion rather than risk complete failure.
It may work ok if the wall are treated with some kind of suitable sealer though
Hi
I've had previous experience of fixing plaster board with dot and dab and not had any problems apart from judging the quantities required, however I was considering using dryfix adhesive as an easier, quicker alternative - is it any good -does it work on old block work in a bathroom situation...
Oh no I've already bought the bonding - I though I may have made a mistake, which was why I posted (maybe it could be exchanged for hard-wall - but that wasn't available then)
but would the bonding work anyway it's only a small area so long as it doesn't crack or fall off?
Hi
I need to patch up an internal wall where I have removed a built in stud wall cupboard.
The browning was cracked and fell away so I removed the rest as shown in the photos below.
I intend to wet the wall and use bonding coat to build up the thickness to just below the original plaster...
