    If hes been in the loft then I would put the blame on him, have a look at the joists if there 600mm centres then he is asking for cracks if hes walking around up there. I would still reskim for him but only the once.

    look at whats around mate? ask if they been in the loft since you plastered, do they slam the doors? just give him things to think about. It my well have shrinked but then again if movement is the problem you could be back again and again? I would offer to reskim at no cost as a good will...

    It depends on what and how much you take on. when I first started I would pay cash all the time. as you take on more and bigger jobs the cash thing can be more hassel than it,s worth. I use my local builder merchant on a trade credit account, they can not beat the DIY stores on price but they do...
