    Having worked in the plastering business for 25years I am looking to move into lecturing or teaching, I have my NVQ level 2 and my A1 award in assessing, obviously I need some teaching qualifications but where to get and at what cost. Why can't tradesmen teach, so much bad press on here about...

    What advice would you give to an absolute beginner?

    Very good advice if not a little of putting for you, it is hard to get going in this industry, your age is against you, courses are a rip off, try local plastering companies but don't leave your job just yet.

    All the plasterers I have ever meet are piss takers, it helps to drive off the boredom having to listen to the youth of today whining about how hard working for a plasterer is. It is a hard life, you just need some drive and passion for the job you do, respect has been lost in the trade more...

    Looks to good to be true, mind you my right hand is shot to bits after 25 years of rough edges on boards. Design better gloves for spreads.
