Is this the right lime plaster to use?

If its on lathes you need to address that first. If their shagged theirs no point going on them if your staying about. Is it a three coat render/skim or does it seem chalky? If so get some chalk mix...i prefer 3 coat sand lime over chalk any day thou!

Float and skim vs board and skim

Any one else got any thoughts on the house breathing if you float and set in cement and cement render the outside....would this cause damp. Can't see how plasterboard would be any better as your still putting gypsum on top

    lime finish?

Personally, you only ever use putty. Mix 1:1...... Damp your wall.Towards when its going off use a sponge float to bring the sand to the surface and then trail up! You will prob need to trail again the next day.

Float and skim vs board and skim

See not having done much dot and dab I think I float and skim is quicker. Have u ever experienced much cracking with float and set with cement?
