ive heard of some sort of baking product that actually stops the multi finish from going of anyone know what it's called and how much you can use without it effecting the strength of the plaster and much longer you get ?

Welcome mate , I'm new as well . Well put mate . I've actually been on a job where in someone's house the plasterer b4 me actually made so much mess they couldn't open the door to the room lol !!! These cow boys are shocking !!
Thanx for all you help !! I can't believe I've only had this problem after 10 years of plastering !! When you say mesh you are talking about stainless steal EML yeah ? Sounds like its my fault then I will have to go put it right :-(
Mate seriously it's a learning curve and never easy I remember my first day and I was completely f**ked !! Use the line on the bucket method that's the best way by far . The thickness of custard is about right .
Id just skim up to it mate them beads are rubbish . If you really want to use a bead use a stop bead but when you buy them make sure none of them are twisted coz the bead could actually show thru the plaster ,all so if you do use a stop bead put some masking or duct tape on the coving it makes...

ive rendered a garage it was a mix of concrete blocks and thermalite blocks a layer of each right to the top . The render has actually blown from the wall all over I used the ratio 3:1 for scratch and 4:1 for top coat the client has phoned the cement...
