We're working on a large refurb job,and the site manager is beyond fussy.Theres hundreds of m2 of skim to boards and all the window walls have been hacked off and new Windows fitted, the windows are 3 .5 m high.We started dabbing the Window walls today. He pulled us on the first two windows cos the margin on the window frame was 2mm out ,on a 3.5 high window,he said there's no such thing as a tolerance it needs to be spot on ,or he won't pass it......there's still 120 Windows to do Nightmare

Do the next one, take the pane out, when he comes to check boot him out the window and on his way to his death ask him how it looks from hell? Bell end

He waked in the room were working in ,which is 15 m by 10m,and said the margin on the window hit him straight away 2mm from a distance of 15 m ,he must have bionic sight ,got to feather it out with bonding tomorrow,it'll take all of a cup full ,at least we know what we're up against on the rest of the job....Nightmare

If we have 5 mm on any wall or so - it's pulled down. Windows - 0 tolerance ! Londons hell is crawling up I will say! Do you use lasers or levels?

He's a liar as well as a bell end. Nice

Keith didn't get back to us, We're still doing the 1000m2 houses in Halifax ,plus we've took on Calderdale college, which will last till August ,that's as long as site manager keeps out the way.To be fair it's a cracking job, apart from the window walls,it's a 40 yr old building ,and walls are all over the place

If he's like that with 2mm being out on reveals wats he guna be like on skimming..nowt worse than a jobs worth who probably dsnt know how to change a light bulb..nowt worse Than a cock end of a foreman makes a gud job shite

We've done 400m2 of skim,not a problem,painted and signed off,only another 64 rooms and 120 windows to go....We've still 5th floor at a mill to do for J L S as well. I'm doing a juggling job at moment

Don't think it would make much difference Danny,if he says he's not happy ,end of, just put it right and move on

Sounds like a right p**ck who begrudges you making a few pound.Could be looking for a backhander or is just a c**t who can't handle a bit of power.Only one way to handle that lad,get him on his own and politely tell him what will happen to him if he does'nt cop himself on.

Id have to be making £1000s a week clemo to deal with that..i always try get on with foreman but there's sum that got bullied at school and just get power pissed

I'd ask him to do the reveals himself to show you how he wants them and then put a level on it. You'll look a right c**t though when he gets them spot bollock on ! :D haha !

Failing that, just tell him to EAD round up your tools and withdraw some f**k off money from your account to pay the lads.. ALWAYSgotta have a couple of grand of f**k off money :)

Have you put a level on the windows?.
Are the jambs bang upright to 0mm tolerance id be amazed of they were.
Round here it's ltd be a fixing top and bottom crazy foam in the middle Bowing it to fcuk.
Every trade has a tolerance the mans a c**t.

It sounds to me you are letting him walk over u. U need to grow a pair of balls just being honest. 2mm can you imagine if you walk and then he shows another plasterer why you went. No one in there right mind would do the work for him.

Scott bang on. Window fitters fire them in from the road and they are always presumed to be level & plumb. And are anything but!!!!
I generally always sight the reveals off the window and cut the reveal same all way around then it 'looks' right even though it may not be.
I'd be taking a six foot level with a 9ft straight edge to those windows with him by your side, when you ask him if he wants it level & plumb or same as window he will soon back off.

Had a similar experience working on Terry Bramhalls house in Harrogate last year. They put lazor level on all beed work with zero tolerance on dotting. UV light on your skimming. Should have seen the amount of plasterers walk off that job.

Most spirit level manufacturers only guarantee accuracy to a tolerance of +/- 0.5mm per meter which gives you nearly 2mm over your 3.5mtr window anyway.
I've about 6 levels in the van I doubt no 2 are exactly the same how does the agent know his is right.
Were lucky if our internal blockwork is within a INCH over 2.4mtrs.

I am working on an extension at the min and a Real stonemason and his son have done the block work and exterior stone and i think this may be the first thing i have worked on in prob 5 or 6 years where every wall, door opening and window opening is spot on. Just a shame the joiner didn't use a level to put his door and window frames in bless him

Ive had that on a few barn conversions. the walls are pissed and the brickie or joiners says " its an old building nowt is gonna be plumb. " yeh but you 2 knob jockeys have built all the internal walls so it should be..........................who needs a level when you've got the Mk1 eyeball....................:coffe:

When i got the original drawings for this one the spec for internal plastering was no straight walls or angles and i think the joiner confused this bit for his spec. That said he starts at 7 and is in the boozer across the road from the job for 3 and is there till they chuck him out

When he's goin over ur work send one of the lads to his office and demolish his paperwork I guarantee he has a nervous breakdown

"Plasterers will sort it out"
If I had a £ every time I heard that. We're expected as a trade to make others shoddy work look right.

There is a tolerance , British building standard if it still exists used to supply tolerances.
