Recently myself @RobJack @shikkuiplaster john doyle and lurking in the back ground @Jon30 met up to discuss general decorative plasterer and also have a play around with shikkui plaster. The coffie good, the banter better but best of all was hearing paul call his hawk a hand board within 30 mins of being in manchester! The shikkui plaster was very smilar to products ive used in the past ie marmorinos and some stuccos but what stud out was how fast the drying times were. This would make the product a little more profitable as the application can be achevied slightly quicker depending on costs of the plaster pauls supplying. Various finishes and colours were used but i would of liked to try and apply on a render coat to see how it reacts wth the british weather. All in all a good plaster to use and the japenese trowels were great. Eco warriors, people born in the 50's and hippies with money will love it as its one of the most eco friendly plasterers around and not bad for the enviroment in anyway. In fact if you tip the dirty water down the grid as you would with dirty skimming water theres a rumour that a bonsai tree will sprout after 7 days :RpS_thumbup:

So how many people are using shikkui in the uk rite now?
How many jobs have been done in the uk with shikkui so far?
And how much shikkui stock is in this country?
 
thats pauls training facilities
@Nisus im pretty sure hes only just got the actual shikkui over here a couple of weeks ago

Out of interest some Questions for Shikkuiman:

So who's the target Market?
What progress have you made so far?
How costly is it compared to other similar products on the market?
How much of it do you expect to sell?
What margins do you expect to make on it?
what's the business plan?
What's the 3 year projections?
What is to stop copy-cat dealers?

I remember it from QI cos they took points off Dara O'brein 2 years after they gave him points for saying it was 1C :RpS_laugh:
 
@Nisus @beddy @Fatarm i agree, but remember hes a japanese shikkui master so hes proberly in ninja stealth mode. The art of watching without watching. @Jon30 said to me when we arrived, no way is that paul! I thought he was asian looking like mr me-agi? Made me laugh that 1 lol

Just a thought Lee but they're just planning on making money out of training to use the gear without a care as to whether it catches on with customers or not. When things are tight people will train to use a new product hoping it will be the next cash cow even when it hasn't a hope.
 
actually theres a nice looking shikkui job coming up just round the corner from me

the clay is nice gear, nice to use good colour variety with a chance to mix them up and create your own just been dismissed for some reason not by paul but alot of people on here, so it never gets mentioned
 
I don't think anyone's dismissed it to be honest JR, more the case that we don't know where it could be applied :RpS_thumbup:
