Out of curiosity what is the current situation with merchants & plastering materials?

Am I right in thinking we are down to just wickes & bq.???

Also as BG is shutdown am I correct to think places have now pretty much run out of gear?

Starting to get selfish nobheads phoning now and I just want to be sure that along with personally thinking it's not correct for us to be working that I can also say that materials are unavailable.

Its impossible for a lot down our way... even I have been struggling to get simple things like paint and what not...

Fookin wake up you T***s!! Men are waiting on materials for work here!!

This is what happens when you have the monopoly on the market

No rivals

They don't give a s**t

If someone like knauf stepped in and said we'll supply the uk, do you think BG would still shut for 3 months?

Bg said it’s main clients stopped ordering, that and health and safety , fears of the virus , it’s a difficult situation, we can’t really throw stones when people are dying , the merchants have stock but they’ve closed too , same reasons, those that were open are out of stock , wickes have nothing near me for miles

Anyone sat for 3 weeks
At least another 3 weeks for sure
Are you going to let them destroy your
Business!

Materials best @ local merchant click & collect & I would have been fooked without the Pakistanis merchants

Off to collect 200 cls timbers know

Can’t seem to add to a basket. Wondering if this is the reason. Is plaster a non essential item?

I'm on a plumbing forum as well.some lads sticking to the rules .only attending mains water pipe bursts ,gas leaks, carbon monoxide alarm alerts etc.but fb full of cowboys advertising for hot water garden taps for your paddling pool.

This is why there gonna extend this lockdown. I dont blame the individual I blame the government for too many grey areas.goverments would rather people die than have civil unrest on the streets and make themselves look unpopular.

Army should have been on the streets weeks ago with a strict lockdown to limit the time we are locked in

Yeah to be fair it would be better to suck it up and make sure this is over as quickly as possible.

I’ve still been working because... bills.

But if I’m being forced into a standstill corner, I now selfishly want everyone to not go anywhere so I can get working again sooner!

Slightly hypocritical but honest at least!

You'll qualify for the 80% grant wont you

Apparently police stopped hundreds of shoppers at a B&Q click&collect as there items were non essential, I can only guess wickes have followed on to this now and themselves are only doing essential items

Getting gear ok here. Gotta wait a day or two for delivery but it’s getting through. Pretty well stocked on the jobs I have. Got about 8-10 pallets of board in front of me.,

The queue when I went to collect at b&q yesterday was horrendous. Honestly couldn’t believe what I was seeing. They had an area fro trade to go and collect and I was done in 10 minutes and missed the queue.
The police turned up just as I was leaving and sat watching from a corner in the car park.

Yes should do. I’m confused about that as well. Are we just waiting for them to get in touch with us about that? I was happy to work and not need to take anything but s**t just got real. I’m going to be spending the day cruising through gov sites it seems! :crying:

Hi Guys,

Hope you are all well during this difficult time?

Just to let you know, P1 is still operating, however we do have a collection policy in place, meaning you have to call up and book in a collection slot.

Deliveries for materials and online orders are happening as normal.

Regarding BG products, they are currently closed until the 23rd, where I believe they are having a meeting to potentially re-open. As soon as I hear more, I will let you know.

As for competition, they now have it. We have been working with a brand called, Make Good over the last 2 years about a finish material, it has now been tested and developed over two years and we have some more material arriving today for testing purposes with local Plasterers. Make Good have other products in the market, their Hardwall have been received very well, their board adhesive not so well, however, they have made the relevant changes and listened to the market. One thing about Make Good is they are small enough to care, and will listen to your feedback - constructive feedback. Big things coming, watch this space

Well you will get 80% of your earnings Up to 2,500 pound If you’ve submitted a tax return for 2018/2019 based on 3 years from that year. You only will get from time you been off so if you’ve still been working you’ll get nothing ‍♂️

You really need to tell them to change the name of there product!

"Make good" couldnt sound any worse its ike the least unprofessional name they could have called it!

Might as well have called it "suppose that will do" its hideous!!!!
