Smoking

Packed in smoking last Thursday, wanted to share my own thoughts on it so far, tbh never actually wanted to pack up but as most smokers know it’s always there as a wish in the back of my mind ,
Near enough all my old raving mates have and I was the last to even try, I know I got a long way to go still, gonna give myself a six month target am hoping by then I can say I’ve done it.
I’m on stage two patches as they didn’t have stage one at the chemist, originally I got them for a few reasons but the main one was on a few occasions was struggling to breathe normally, this happened a few times over last few months, I put it down to just being uptight but the most recent time I was chilled at home on the phone and it was horrendous.
I done a lot of research into breathing exercises now and am feeling slightly different and a bit ratty lol
Some of my mates who have stopped say oh yeah I was fine when they packed up but I thinking everyone must be different as feels vary strange to stop and maybe they forgot how weird it feels, if i succeed in stopping for good will consider it unbelievable tbf as just haven’t been bothered to try before.

I find it rock hard mate, tried stopping more times than I can count sometimes got through the worst quick for about 3 months and then some f****** catastrophe happens at home and end up sucking them down me again,
The best I found that kept me off the fags for the longest was champix pills,

One day at a time, tell yourself you will not have a fag today but may have one tomorrow if you fancy it.
Do that everyday, best of strength to you.

i just stopped smoking when i was 42, i was ill at the time so i did not fancy a cig. anyway.
after about 3 months you seem to hit a crossroads , if you had a cig. you would soon be running down the shop for more.
another problem with plaster is that the powder is so fine it does cause breathing troubles like COPD.

Stopped 20 years ago . Just stopped was on about 20 to 30 a day ( never paid for em was doing fag runs to belguim) wish i wrote a book on it.

Not easy, did it cold turkey.
It's a big mental battle.

What's key is to treat yourself with the money your saving.

24 years smoke free for me . I had to have hypnosis to kick it into touch but it was the best thing i ever did . I Swapped smoking for fitness and looking after my self . It always good to swap a negative with a positive action as this will reinforce your mindset . Well done @Vincey ,You have a long way to go but stick at it .

I stopped a 40 a day habit around 15 years ago and would never even think about it now.

Cant have 2 cans of larger in house without having to have a line of Charlie though even bulk buy so that I can never run out.

Where all f**k*d up 1 way or another @Vincey

Fk bulk buying, I’d only stop once I ran out

Had a few friends round to watch Celtic game last night and one decides at half time that he fancy’s a gram. Before I know anything he’s ordered it through Snapchat and two lesbians pull up outside tooting horn while mrs is watching soaps in living room.

tbf was decent gear

Will update every now and again as don’t want to start blagging on like a reformed looney smoker but am feeling pretty flipping good today, main thing I’ve noticed is my lung actually feel sore , a bit like when been gym training and muscles are sore next day , I googled it this morning just to see and did say it is like this for some for upto 9 months so that’s that.
my mrs is another surprise to me about all this she said this morning she can’t believe I got to this stage, she said I looking fresher too
