I use a staple gun on new work all the time but I cant see it being a lot of use for re-skims.

try it anyway......sometimes you hit the old bead or if its sand cement no chance........or staple the bead up losely and tap it home with a hammer sometimes works mate

just coat it up with a bit of finish

i tried it on new boards and the bead just sits loose ..... much quicker imo to use nails
