sharpening trowels

Hi all....

Any tips on sharpening the trowels? tried sand paper and a sharpening edge but can't seem to get any kind of nice sharpness?

thanks in advance
The only thing I think about sharpening trowels is the angle you sharpen them at probably won't be the natural angle it will sharpen itself whilst using it,I will probably speed up the process a little though,A low grit sand paper like 60/80 will start it off then a stone, put the sandpaper on a flat surface and trowel diagonally across it instead of trying to sand the edge down directly.

Last week mate , the gable end a hacked off last week

Thanks all, Beddy where abouts are you in the country? I have 2 that need doing, worn in but not sharp

Im only joking mate. I could do it for you but In all fairness it's a doddle. All i do is use 4-5 different Japanese water stones. A welsh slate stone and a leather strop. Would probably take an hour per trowel
