Scrim tape

I want to scrim out a whole wall with plastering scrim tape. But I don't want to use the normal type cus I'll be there all day. Where can I get a wider scrim tape for a good price? Is there anywhere in Stoke on Trent that sells this?

Render mesh I think will do the job... But you will need to bed it in or it won't be as effective

What would you say is best? Apply thin coat of Carlite bonding to wall and then stick down meshing over that then skim. Or just rough on your skim coat then apply it and flatten down with trowel. What u think?

I Used the Weber mesh into first coat of skim on a wall it went in nice to the first coat but tbh afterwards I thought why the hell am I doing all this fannying about and what was the point

Hair line cracks but they are all over the walls.

Is it ex council house but the walls are sound?
If so just get some fibres from Wickes or selco put a good half bag in water stir then add powder, I don’t bother for second coat. If it’s the odd hollow here and there and you don’t want to strip off then use render mesh and be patient until it really pulls in before generous second coat.

I always forget about putting fibres in the first coat

They are around £3.50 a bag Danny and just another addition for customer to see we are trying to give a smooth finish for painting with as much prep as possible instead of hack off and dab and skim which is not always necessary.

Are these fibres normally used when mixing cement? If u put this in with your multi finish, won't it be full of bits?

They can be used for both, they are very fine and you don’t notice them at all except on beads very slightly. There are other fibres specifically for render or screed and they are bigger and thicker, usually sold at jewsons etc.
