Sbr on plasterboard

Hi all I'm new to plastering and wondered if it's OK to seal plasterboard with sbr prior to skimming as I've done this before to give me extra time .just wondering if I was alright doing this or causing problems as If found it helps many thanks Dan

Pb is about one of the nicest surfaces to skim unless it’s really old Pb.

But if it's (too) a big area for you, crack on.

wipe it over with damp cloth or sponge or if needed watery pva it
sbr way over the top extreme never needed

You much better off using extra time for that, 1 sachet per bag in first coat and away you go. Saves guessing.
