Roughcasting .! :-/ Anyone got any experience with it any tips tricks of the trade? I mainly do skimmin and plain faced rendering, done a bit of pebbledash but never had to do any roughcasting til now.... any help appreciated .. are there any demos online at all? cheers.

Try K-rend roughcast premixed powder ,all batch coloured very easy to use, mix butter coat up and dash in separate drums.
surface can be beaded up and scratched as normal i use white upvc beads to match the dashing. Scratch coat,(prebagged base or mortar) mask up fascias and windows paths covered ect, next day lay on butter not too thick then follow up wih dash coat into the butter, wet dash is a little more forgiving than dry dash. Hope this helps. some one else might have a different idea, but thats how we do it mate. ;)

like to give the k rend stuff a go one day ;) allways done it in sand&cement wet dash on site or a dry dash with a slurry on top if you have to keep the mess done on domestic stuff , you might need two mixers on the go if the elevations are big , put on the butter coat and trowel flat mix up a really wet mix poor that into a tub or bath add two builder size bucket fulls of wet stone mix with a drill add water if needed apply with small coal shovel with a flick of the wrist mind the slash back

Yeah watch the splash back best wear overalls its not a clean job  ;D
with wet dash a lot of people prefere render bands around the window reveals so that they can open them.
