Overboarding

Hi guys

Recently insulated the loft, however unfortunately the ceiling has been damaged from this, it's only in one place though but you can see where the damage is, will this need overboarding? As this would mean removing the light fitting above the stairs or is there a possibility it can be skimmed over?

I just wanted to see if his boot was still hanging from the ceiling!
