Need some advice. Solid stone house, walls 2.5 ft wide. External wall, was damp internally, from we believe a chimney leak. Chimney rebuilt 4 years ago. Internally still had condensation problem on that wall, so old render removed 12 months ago, newly cement rendered couple of months ago but is showing lot of condensation some days, when humidity is high. Presume wall is still damp, although it looked dry before we rendered it, so damp cold wall resulting in condensation on cold wall. Should we remove cement render and replace with lime render? Would that allow wall to dry out better over time?

Water vapour in air will condensate on cold surface in room
different wall thicknesses, different stones and mortar used have different qualities retaining temps etc
Keep fire going
