Floor screed

Alright guys,

Not done many floor screeds in the past, not sizable ones anyway - went to quote a job this morning, chap wants to convert his garage on the side of the house into a living area.

Garage measures 10m x 3m, so 30 sq - so reckoning on a recent post, 5-6 quid a metre is the norm labour only ?

Also, are there any regulations governing depth ? I was always told about 75mm and if so, how do I work out how much I need for 30sq m at 75mm depth

Cheers Phil

I Recon you need about 3 tonne of sand plus 20 bags of cement @ 75mm but you can get ready mix if you want , 65mm is a basic screed depth anymore you need reinforcing of some kind depends on the base , i would want £230 for floor that size if its a one off labour only .

if the floor is that small u need to at least cover u and a labourer for a days money - ie £150-200 for u plus labourer £50-60? and take ur time

75mm is the standard depth. so 30 x 0.075 is the calculation of screed in m3

meter is about 1.6 tonne or 2 bulk bags give or take

tonne is about 0.6 of a meter

bulk bag is about 850kg
