Depends - if artex has been painted then blue grit would be fine. If bare artex , 50/50 PVA , grit and skim when dry.

ok Gareth will wait for it too dry first then.
So painted artex ceilings or walls just apply blue grit and skim when dry?

blue grit is a bit of work spreading it over large area do any of you give it a whirl with an old whisk first to make it spread on easier ?
I just use a brush I find roller doesn't spread it well enough
Wash off the distemper first ,done two ceilings last week and did exactly that,Ok about distemper like old lime plaster - just blue grit ?
I use a lot of betokontakt - any difference to blue grit?
Yep bang on,make sure any distemper residue is washed off with clean water then blue grit away all you likeWash them off with sugar soap then blue grit when dry ?
You need to move over to the pink side!
Betokontakt rollers on fast, goes much further and takes half the skim to cover.
It's the thinking man's pre-grit. :RpS_thumbsup:

You mean apart from being pink, rollering on fast, going much further & taking half the skim to cover?
You tell me, you use a lot of it ... apparently?
So how are you giving advice to use blue grit id you don't know what it's like to use?
I assume all bonding agents are the same ?
Ok, churchy - agree that beto lovely b/a to work with - blue grit kill suction more than beto ?
Come on!
