Exterior lath and plaster...

I need to remove some lath and plaster panels on the gable of my house and replace with something ready for wetherby silicone render in a few weeks.

I was planning on using Wickes aqua panel, but I've noticed it says internal only.

Can I use it or can I use a 6mm hardy backer board?

Hardibacker is internal only too. Use Knauf Aquapanel, Gtec Renderboard. Or an equivalent.

Pretty much any render carrier board will do.

if its just for that maybe use that jacko tile backer from b and q. its insulated aswell so little bonus

aqua panel board is designed to accept thincoat render, acrylic finish.

i ve used aqua interior before when short. aslong as its 12mm.

From what i have read it will be fine for exterior use but they will not give a warranty for longer than ten years.
if its your own house its your choice, me personally i would be happy with ten years minimum.

Just get the right stuff. Going to all this trouble then cutting corners is foolish.
