New products are always entering the market in the UK and this is something we are especially excited about.

We are pleased to have recently become an approved dealer and training centre for Aero-Therm products both Machine and Hand Applied.

At PFT Central we are going to create a specialised applicator network and be actively promoting the Aero-Therm products to home-owners, with the aim of bringing leads to our applicators.

We are currently looking to build our applicator network, if this is of interest to you, please get in touch and we will be happy to speak to you

Here is some information on the Aero-Therm range:

Aero-Therm is a new form of insulation that takes a revolutionary new approach to keeping the rooms in your home warm and comfortable. Using the latest technical developments in heat and energy conservation, it provides an extremely effective ultra-thin heat reflective coating which can be easily applied to internal walls and ceilings.

With only a 1mm thick coating, Aero-Therm is able to rapidly absorb and emit the available radiant energy around the room, continually working to balance the temperature differentials between the walls, ceilings, furniture and occupants. This results in a stable thermal comfort for the occupants, which can be achieved at a lower thermostat setting.

As the AeroTherm coating is able to adapt quickly and warm up to room temperature, the wall surfaces are also warm. This removes the chill factor often felt in poorly insulated or solid wall properties with cold external walls. These warm walls also reduce the conditions for condensation to form on the surface and so help to prevent mould growth.

As the heat is being contained within the room and not allowed to be easily soaked up into the walls, it provides quicker warm up times, longer cool down times and more balanced room temperatures, allowing the heating system to be more efficient and reduce its output. Recognised independent testing has shown significant energy savings of up to 35%, which is similar to conventional IWI and EWI insulation systems. It also has many practical advantages over these complex and disruptive systems.

The AeroTherm application consists of two simple stages. The first is to apply the base coat followed by the AeroTherm paste using techniques similar to plastering. The AeroTherm then needs to be left to dry for around 24 hours before the second stage of sanding it down to a smooth finish, which is then ready for decorating.

Many homeowners, especially those with solid walls or original features have long struggled to find an effective insulation product which doesn’t impact on the visual or spatial characteristics of the room. Aero-Therm provides the solution to these issues and is set to transform how we insulate our homes.

What kind of R values does the product achieve over a standard application?

Interesting and very brave after the stilt debacle, but this is something I could potentially use.

U Values measure the speed that conducted energy is lost through and object

Aero-Therm doesn't work in the same way, it reflects energy from the radiated energy wavelengths back into the occupied room space.

It doesn't work like a conventional Insulation system, so can't use the same mathematical equations.

If you could even it out, it would work the same out as a 120mm Mineral wool system which gives roughly .3 - This has been given to us by Aero-Therm

So what are the costs for those looking to become installers ?

And is this a finished paintable product then once done ?

The training costs are being finalised as we speak. This will be sent out to all those who are interested within the Aero-Therm information packs.

Aero-Therm can be the finished product and can be painted over. It is quite a soft product so in areas of footfall we would recommend plastering over the top

The final finish will need a light sand after it has dried :D As it does not trowel up like finish

Costs are very cheap :D

Ok, well count me in as interested then

Very Interesting. Been looking into ways to insulate my back bedroom that wouldn't involve ripping the ceiling down or losing any headroom. This sounds ideal.

So can you skim over this stuff ryan and it still does its magic?

What is the material only cost per m2 Ryan ?

I can't put the exact cost of materials for applicators per m2 on here mate. We have a applicator scheme, those who come through the training process and become approved will get a better rate than others.
Supply and fit rates will vary from £45.00 - £75.00 + VAT per m2 - as its an energy saving product the VAT on application is only 5%

If I become a applicator can I have exclusivity within a 3 mile radius of my house, any further and it's too far.

It may sound like a silly question and may have been a joke, but, its a fair point. Through out applicator schemes we will only select a small amount of applicators within certain areas. There is no point in you guys becoming approved and me putting another 20 guys within your area.

The idea is, you for for it, we work for it, it works for everyone - we help you, you help us.

Why would you charge for training ,would you not be earning your money from selling the product ?

Yes we will earn from selling the product, applicators will get a reduced rate for coming through to the training, this will balance out over time. They will also be provided will a tool kit for the Aero-Therm range, information packs and selling aids.
The other idea of charging for training, is that applicators will be passed leads from us, also if they invest into the training they will be more pro-active in finding work
