on a full EIFS system no problem.....but we do alot of acrylic finishes on sand and cement render here, reason they disallow it was the ammonia ate the galvanized plaster stops beads.....they then rust out and the lawsuits...
too many response without meaning in this thread.
but Ill clarify a couple things, that I didnt notice.
a few references to Moroccan walls ...which is where tadelakt originated
1: tadelakt is not a material it is a method
2: just because something has been sealed ...doesn't mean its not...
ahhh milestone...used to love that stuff....I know Don semi well my self.
replicating milestone is much much simpler then venetian.
milestone powder ( cement either white or gray ) ...mixed with acrylic....and its the acrylic thats the key.......I dont think don sells anymore ....sold out to...
spray the finish material on ,let set up a bit ,lightly sponge then use one of these .....keep the blade angle really low
310 ENL (oval) | Marmorino Depot
exactely that ...it makes it easier to see low spots ,it leaves just enough material in the serrated high spots for floating ...and in some finishes its also enough to leave a key for finish.
serated darbies and feather edges have been around that I remember at least 35 years
as for the key...

unless they want the ashlar look still...if thats the case this is a simple job you could easily make look like limestone blockwork....simply plaster each block independantly ,then point afterwards, simple.
if they do not want the ashlar look filling the joints first is the way to go....but...
depending on the plaster you are using??
use a high quality acrylic primer add about 1 cup of #70-100 sand ...whichever you can get hold of...quartz, silica,dolomite....and prime and then plaster away

citric acid=retarder
Also citric acid ie: eat an orange at lunch if your spreading acrylics and dont wear gloves.....it will remove acrylic finish from your hands
It is actually a secretion expelled after eating, and is a natural polymer, its produced by the coccus lacca or Lac beetle, they may use it to attach eggs not sure about that.....was one of the first things taught to me in the fibrous shop....many moons ago.

50 mm cavity is overkill IMO ......errr 2 inch cavity?
what I would call backing board ,here in Namerica ....no you are not going to put it directly on OSB,but spanned across your drainage cavity should be no problem,IMO I would do some reseaerch on OSB.....for the sake of a few pund.....it is...
The bead itself is called a staff bead, the V groove is called a quirk....as for attaching, the old way was to take a piece of timber slightly thicker then the brick joints, this was with your lathing hammer "axed" to a "propeller" shape.....and then pounded into the brick joint, the shape would...

And its for this exact reason that no schools or public buildings use EIFS any more at least under I believe 12' high.....also most high rise here now ...no longer use EIFS ....in there case the jobs were installed so poorly ...that the panels were blowing off the buildings in the wind....hahahah
actually yes it is ....not sure if it is only krend ...but that is what I am looking for....siliconized through colored render ( or stucco here ) specifically the scraped finishes....if its not water resistant ..then oh well ...just that the weather resistance is a beneficial selling point...
crappy basecoat or not ,any exterior marmroinos we do ...they are all then covered with EIFS mesh and basecoat,to help control the cracking....after that they are primed with an acrylic primer which kills the suction ,yet new suction is created with the ceramic micro beads in the paint.......we...

E.I.F.S training was mandatory here in Namerica at one time....you could not buy without the manufacturers approval........even then companies cheated ...screwed it up and E.I.F.S took a back seat.....done wrong and eifs is a disater.
