sounds like hes taking advantage of you cause u work for him, an old boss of mine would get me to all sort of little jobs on the side not plastering related and rip me off all. i felt i couldnt say no cause i worked for him and didnt have the balls to ask for what was fair, cause i didnt wanna...
a bloke i new said he would never do a job for pakastani customers anymore cause they always pretend they got no money, and when u count ya money its always short, and they always hassle hassle hassle for a discount, he wont even quote for them.
Re: plastering above kitchen cupboards! would u do
i think i could do it but i know its gonna be a marathon pain in the a$$ and i dont wanna be judged on a crap job like that,!
i got a 8inch midget trowel already :)
Re: plastering above kitchen cupboards! would u do
the person who asked me seems to think its easy! if u can plaster u can plaster!
i explained that the job was not straight forward :'(
Re: 18''mt  permashaped trowel
they r used for flattening off when the plaster is still wet not for finishing because u cant get enough pressure along the larger trowels
been asked to plaster above existing kitchen cupboards and round the cupboards on 3 walls everything is working up to coving, skirting, architrave and cupboards,
seems like a b!tch job climbing over kitchen cabinets and working over the cupboards onto a small area of wall, having to climb up...
if u overboarding an old ceiling and it has sagged, when u overboard and put loads of fixings in usually it will pull the warped ceiling up straighter and ya new board then sits flatter too
Re: pricing a job  £££  ???
£450, u get people quoting al different prices, thats what i think its worth other people would say less other might say more
i asked my old teacher about stilts and he slagged them right off saying there are only good for having accidents :'(
im guessing he stacked it on them and landed face first in a bucket of artex ;D ;D ;D
u should just price him per room then u know where u stand, a room is do-able in 3 sets and u should be doing 3 sets a day when u think an avearge room is worth £400 ish then yeah your getting ripped off!
there was sum bloke few weeks bk who got lairy and danny kicked him off the site, or i think it was segs who booted him off ;D
all the guys on here are helpfull, i think everyone is on here for the same reason - to learn and to share there knowledge
we have never pulled a ceiling down always overboard, if i was in charge i would rather pull it down cause over boarding is a b!tch but the gaffer cant deal with the mess
