We have to dismantle the rendered are between two bay windows (upstairs / downstairs) in a couple of weeks....as the timber structure is rotten due to water ingress.

I was under the impression it was like a "big trowel", but its only really for using to flatten in 1st then 2nd coat?
You still need to use your trowel for finishing / polishing etc?
Seen the "Speedskim" mentioned on here a bit, and thinking about giving it a try (normally just use handboard / trowel)
What kind of experience / feedback do any of you have re the product, (ie best size to use etc)and do you think it makes much difference to coverage etc?

If there were already salts from any damp in your brickwork, and you replastered the inside with normal gypsum plaster (browning - bonding - multifinish etc) then the salts may remain in the plaster.
If you have to keep brushing them off after replacing your step, it may be worth...

We are on a tilers forum (tilerworld), and you can tell the difference in the mentality of tilers and us plasterers from the comments. (in a good way though) !!!!
Any plaster coving manufacturer / supplier should be able to provide you with some adhesive.
If you get the powdered form, you can then add some to your casting plaster to slow it down when doing your mitres.
