I.ve used pva(watered right down)but read on here it's bad practice.

Don’t believe the shite that the dab sticks to pva n not wall. Pva will re emulsify when dab hits it. It’s just a waste of time and pva. As @zombie says blast with water if needed n also gives the wall a drink so dab doesn’t dry too quick n give a weak bond

Materials alone is well over a grand, probably £1200. If any mugs doing all that for 2k labour then they aren't running a business they're running a charity. Be lucky to get £100 a day out of it

Bad practice is sticking boards straight on to a pourous and dusty background. It doesn’t allow the adhesive to set at a normal rate hence breaking the bond!
