yellow pine

Was ripping out an old estate house today and found some lovely yellow pine now I've heard that this makes a great float ! Any of you golden oldies recommend these ?

yes years ago when there was small joiners shops all over we use to get our floats made up and the pine floats was always the best. we use to like them about half inch thickness keep it well moist or it will split;
