Window sills

Just been watching a video by a well known manufacturer and it looked like they used verge trims as sills? They offered it up to the existing sill? I have seen this on a job on a nursing home near me but none of the training courses by Fassa Botolio, weber, Envirowall do it like this. They show over sills stuck onto the existing sill.

Why do Wemico send over sills with an upturn? I have to cut these off so it tucks nice and tight between the window frame and existing sill?

been using vergetrim under cills cause "boss" was to tight to pay enablers to cut back old conrete cills, now houses look daft
