Just looked at a rendering job. Some big areas (well for me) The question i've got is there are lots of windows to bead up and they all have thermalite blocks as the window seals, well they've been bedded on there sides on and angle. The builder I'l be quoting to said about beading them up and rendering them?? Is this the right way. If i was too would i need a different mix as surely they would see alot of rain?? Any help would be appreciated :)
Thanks in advance!!

if your rendering thermalites the mix needs to be very very weak. i vaguely remember rich saying a while back around 8:1

Sounds right pikey doing cills like that should be stone or something that is going to weather well ,i would put waterproofer on the top coat on the cills this will help to weather them a bit better.

Couple of coats of masonry paint on them once finished should be enough protection from the weather i'd have thought.
