Lads why are you even arguing with robbo..he never answers the question on the point you've given, just throws some more numbers about a different topic..reminds me of somebody:popcorn:

I'm bored and my back's killing me from laying flooring yesterday and gardening today. If I don't do this while I'm sat in front of the computer I'll end up on eBay buying a motorbike or something daft.

Imagine thinking you know what everyone's debt is for and who's is worthy and who's isn't.

I guess they're not all equal after all eh Napoleon?
Well student debt isn't equal no. That's well known

But dont get into it in the 1st place if money is your motivation.

The thing is so many people say this that or the other group should be paid more. There are plenty of threads on here about it. There are also plenty of threads where people are moaning about how much tax they pay and how expensive everything is.

You've got to the point of ridiculous now if you expect to believe that a nurse should of realised that their government wouldn't even keep their wage in line with inflation

your only a child

you want to be the person
at the funeral
of your father that everyone relies on.

that will open your eyes.

Indeed it isn't. It's funded by the tax payer, and you don't have to pay a penny of it back until you earn over £27k a year. If you don't hit that the debt's written off. Nice terms if you can get them, especially when as you point out it's a p1ss poor investment. Still, not as bad as investing in property say.

Nurses dont get into nursing for dosh,il guarantee that, money to them is secondary..
No but they like to be able to provide for their families, they are getting squeezed and squeezed

Ok we'll leave it there

So you're saying someone who does a degree in nursing is unlikely to stay in nursing their whole career? That is a bizzare thing to say or think. It's not like getting a business degree and switching from company to company.

Nurses, vets, teachers, doctors etc train in a very specific area and largely stay in it
The dropout rate of newly qualified teachers is very high.

Most people don't do a degree in teaching, they do a degree in maths, English etc and get a job in teaching. Realise they hate it and get another of the many jobs their degree is relevant to. Completely different to a nursing degree

You sneaky b4stard! You thought I'd gone didn't you? Thought I wouldn't notice you cosying up to that stud muffin @essexandy ?

Well we're done now pal. Argue with yourself from now on.

Any1 going back tomoz then? What's peoples plans with work?

No, I've been making provisional plans for the 11th May. That'll be after the three week extension so hopefully we'll know a bit more by then.

You getting full £2500 a month robbo?
Doubt it, changed from a ltd company to sole trader a couple of years ago in the march, and they are counting march-april as a full years trading, which nackers my average up

I should know tomoz ish if my furlough come through.the whole £190 odd pound a week I think it works out at,accountant put claim in monday when portal opened and old Rashi said all buisness should have payment within 6 working days.so could be tuesday

I said train in very specific areas, I meant people with a degree in teaching but yes it wasn't a great example. Dentist would of been better
I did check with my Mrs and she said that there is still quite a high percentage of teachers that do the full four year teaching degree. Her's is a school that specialises in training new teachers coming via different routes.

I reckon it's all go after this lockdown.taylor wimpey opening is massive, others will follow suit, just wont be able to source any gear :frenetico:

It will be lets just make sure we keep the prices high! Hopefully Covid will be a lesson to anyone who has undercut/undercharged or charges peanuts that you can't run a business and prepare for all situations without charging a decent rate.

So @FreeD why dont you go ltd? Your accountant advised you against going ltd but your paying £10k self assessment tax? Dsnt make sense at all
[/QUOTE]

I don't know mate it has been discussed a couple of times as I know you pay less tax/NI dividends through LTD...

Thing is with most of these jobs 40-50K especially public sector you have job security and can probably work in them until the grave...where as plastering you have until you are 40 then it's rapidly down hill and no pension to fall back on

Tortoise & hair innit!

This is pretty humbling and extremely sad and if you think going to work is worth dying for you are truly insane.
