Hello again, I have a sandstone 1st floor bedroom wall to plaster in my sisters house. It's approximately 400mm thick with no damp issues.
The lime plaster above the window was blown so I've knocked it off and I'm left with a timber lintel (which iv screwed plasterboard to) and about 300mm of sandstone above it.
Should I use browning, hardwall or sand and cement?
Also should I fix EML to the plasterboard?
Iv never plastered a sandstone wall so would appreciate advice from the pros!

Seeing as it's in your sisters house and no damp present take off the piece of plasterboard you have fitted and cut another piece that will go from lintel to ceiling line. put a few dabs off addy on the sand stone then put in place and set some screws through into the lintel. Float out flush to existing plaster with bonding and when set skim with multi.

Thanks Raggles, had'nt thought of that!
There's also a bit of patching to do in 3 other rooms before I skim them. All the walls are lime plastered sandstone.
Which backing plaster would you use?
