What type of render to use on top of existing render/refurbishment project

#1
Hi everyone. I am new on this forum, so I should say "Hi" to everyone. I am not a plaster or render professional but need an urgent advise.
Now here is my dilemma. I got a project with existing cement based render most probably done in 1930th. To smarten it up I would like to apply new coat of render (through coloured if possible). What kind of render should I use? I have looked at STO StoRend Flex as it suitable for renovation projects or what is alternative to STO? Please see images attached.

sto is expensive and hard to get hold of if your not approved.

that is thick render if your planning to go over the top

If it’s original job from 1930 and stable I’d leave it as is tbh
Original features always look better imo

Thank you everyone for advises. So should a base coat be cement based or not? I know I will need a mesh for stability of new render. Could someone advise what render to use.

I would get a spec from your chosen render manufacturer
