Mmmmmm you get what you pay for, want it to last then buy quality, want a noisy grinding stinking smoking drill, get a cheap one...

When my refina died about 18 months ago i bought a draper mixer to be fair had no probs with it was about 180 at the time prob cheaper now , only gripe is it sounds like a jet engine!

The refina is worth the money. There are guys on here that have them 10 years old and still in use.

It all depends on what type of work you do. If it's just skimming mainly a smaller refina will cope easy and cheaper.

I got an Eibenstock (same company who own Refina) 1800w for £285 on eBay. Was up for £299 but I haggled :RpS_wink:

Ive had mine for 9 years now and only replacement part needed was a new paddle and a new power lead as they snap eventually if you wind them round the handle

I've had my eibenstock drill bought from refina 1998, serviced regularly and used virtually every day. Bought a cheap back up from b&q around 6 years ago and only use it when the eibenstock is having its service.

had my eibenstock for years,, not cheap but worth paying the money for (especially if you do floating, i know a few of us on here do)

i would go for the 1800 refina, the 240v mixes a little bit faster then the 110v. we have ours about 10 years now it has been reconditioned. we also have a bosch , some people do not like the handle, and a belle 1600 not as quick as the refina but a good back up tool, and simple to repair.

I bought the eibenstock because i lost my rag with the gear switch on my belle 1600 less than 12 months old !! Glad i bought the eibenstock. Mixes 2bags in no time compared to the belle. But the belle was £160 and the eibenstock £285 defo worth the extra money

yep another eibenstock vote here , great machine without the refina badge and the stupid delivery charges

invest in a quality eibenstock/refina 1800 watt and the investment will pay you back for years to come, even if the job goes bellyup you can sell them second hand for decent money.

Anyone tried the 1200w eibenstock don't think I need 1800w as I rarely mix more than two bags n not much float work.

my eldest son purchased the 1200 by mistake, to slow on the mix, just used as a spare now.
the only thing that i do not like on the refina drill is the time it takes to change the brushes. the belle you just undo one screw and the brush pops out, a quick change and away you go.
