Hi, got an old cottage which needs some TLC. Basic wall construction is stone/rubble with varying finishes - mostly lime plaster.
Sitting room is a different matter. I'm no expert (hence why I'm here) - but this room looks to have been rendered ( the surface/material is literally rock hard) probably to get some control on damp penetration from below and outside.
I'm looking just to repair a couple of sections. Along the base of one wall - the surface has come away. Rising moisture I guess. The other area is high up and of my own doing - I'm cleaning up the areas around original timbers and making good.
From these pictures - can you advise what this render is made from / what you'd advise to make a repair please?
Many thanks, Nick
