So we are a couple of weeks into the new year and I was wondering what do you think we will see in 2015?

2014 saw Nela take the industry by storm along with magnetic plaster but what do you think we will see over the next 11.5 months?

What would you like to see in the industry?

Danny

Interest rates will go up, lots of repos hopefully get chance of grabbing one or 2 this year cheap..

Labour will get in on the back of Ukip fck the economy up again so the cycle will continue...

Maybe Ukip will get in next time and start WW3..

Hopefully everyone will be in a better position when the economy goes tits up again.

Meter rates will not go up as ever there will always be a lad who will work for a tuppence..

H&S onsite will get even more stringent making it even harder to earn a crust.

Nela will bring out another 8 different trowels, Uni finish will be dropping of Artex again..

Not sure what new tools are needed now, alot have appeared over the last couple of years.
noticed materials gone up in price lately, multi nearly 6quid a bag in wickes now.
Should be a good year for work though.

Me and the kids shall be digging up the time capsule this year that we buried 10 years ago.
Can't wait to see how big the puppies grown.

Where u looking mate

Where u looking mate

As local to us as poss mate really ideally would be southport and surrounding areas as I know them, but getting anything that we can add value round here for less than 100k isn't easy so thinking Lancashire trying to stay away from Liverpool as I don't really know it as well as u would like and it's a bit of a mine field..

Any places you would suggest?

I've lived in Huyton and Prescot side is ok but Hill side and that way aren't so great.

I've stayed in Anfield for about 3 months and I wouldn't bother anywhere near there..

Obviously Allerton and that way is decent but again prices round there will be fairly high I imagine.

We will be looking to sell rather than let initially.

Sold one last year for £100 k less than its worth today so I would have made more money sitting at home for two years, than I did selling it..

Wow mental is London!!

Watched a doc last week about London and the influx of super rich come over from Russia etc..

What's your plan for the future john? Staying in the big smoke till retirement then sell up and move somewhere nice with a decent nest egg from your properties?

Allerton that's where the best plasterers live spanky ha

So many movers and shakers in the world that affect our very being, our very security of life ,work and economy in general. The Russians are in trouble so they can cause seismic shifts to distract their impoverished people, the foreign money may stop coming into London and the ripple effect across the country might end ,then we'd see hints of poverty, all around us ireland,Italy,Spain,Greece,Portugal to name just a few are in dire straits ,this normally would mean a war ,I sincerely hope not, the Isis and other extremists are been beaten every day by secret agents but they only need to succeed 1 in a 100 .we just need to hope for the best .

Like a lot of us who were raised poor my main aim is to leave my boy something decent, I don't have any properties at the min, sadly I'm a minnow ,the game has passed me by at the minute but I need to step back on ..it's difficult in London with houses that were £300k now been £450 k .

Someone will invent an economic alternative to plaster finish for walls. Maybe thermosetting plastic, stick the self adhesive sheets on, run the heat gun over it and relax. Or an electro setting carbon resin, spray it on, apply voltage and job done.

The government will introduce a law preventing thick or tight people from owning houses.
@Nisus will buy some new buckets and a ladder.

The construction industry will be seen as the new 'sexy' sector and experienced tradesmen and women who are at the top of their game will be treated like rock stars.

Britain's got talent will become a trade skills competition.

Read a few years back that u could buy properties in the NE, possibly run down areas of Newcastle, Middlesbrough ? Maybe for 50 pence, maybe more expensive now. Why not buy the whole St for you and your families and reclaim the areas ?. I know you got white trash there but not as bad as the trash in London I would have thought ?

Marshalltown bring out a diamond trowel and they cost £10.000 a pop ya wouldn't leave that on the job:RpS_scared:
